    Colonoscopy
A colonoscopy is a visual examination of the entire large intestine, also known as the colon. This exam is used to explore possible causes of abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, chronic constipation, chronic diarrhea and other intestinal problems. A colonoscopy is also used as a method of screening for colon cancer.

Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
A sigmoidoscopy is an internal exam of the lower part of the large intestine (colon) using a short, thin, flexible lighted tube.

    Upper Endoscopy
An upper endoscopy is a procedure used to determine the cause of gastrointestinal disorders and symptoms including heartburn, the presence of hiatal hernias, the cause of abdominal pain, unexplained anemia, and the cause of swallowing difficulties, upper GI bleeding, and the presence of tumors or ulcers.

  Capsule endoscopy
A standard endoscopic examination involves the passage of a small camera around the appropriate segment of the gut – guided by a flexible tube.
An alternative is now to swallow a small pill-sized camera that transmits images to a recorder worn in a belt.

The Aberdeen clinic has pioneered this technique in Scotland as an alternative to standard colonoscopy.

Endoscopy Team
Every member of the endoscopy team is a specialist in their own right. They are there to ensure that you are put at ease and experience the highest quality endoscopy service available.
