At The Aberdeen Clinic we have a team of experienced nurses who are able to offer advice and help on a variety of conditions.

Specific nurse led clinics are available for:

The Aberdeen Clinic offers free blood pressure checks and finger prick tests for cholesterol in the hope of identifying two of the major risk factors for heart attacks and strokes.

Our specialist nurses are able to give advice on a number of minor skin lesions and either recommend a specialist review or instigate treatment such as cryosurgery.

Our surgically trained nurses are able to remove sutures and administer dressings. They are also able to check on the healing of wounds and ensure that these are progressing satisfactorily.

We offer a variety of travel vaccinations and paediatric vaccinations.

Skin prick testing is one of the most common allergy tests. It involves putting a drop of liquid onto your forearm that contains a substance you may be allergic to. The skin under the drop is the gently pricked. If you are allergic to the substance, an itchy, red bump will appear within 15 minutes.

Skin prick testing is painless and very safe. It is important not to take any antihistamine medications before the test as they interfere with the results.

Our specialist nurses are able to offer instant tests for a variety of sexually transmitted diseases and can arrange treatment or onward referral if required.

Our specialist nurses are able to offer instant tests for:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhoea
  • Hepatitis B
  • Hepatitis C
  • HIV
  • Syphilis

If required we will arrange treatment or onward referral.
