Physiotherapy

Our approach is all about you and your recovery, ensuring we can help you in achieving your goals. We want you to recover and return to your normal activities, get back to work and return to a normal life. We use our knowledge and expertise to treat you, designing and delivering personalised rehabilitation programs.

WHEN IS PHYSIOTHERAPY USED?

The benefit of choosing the physio team here at The Aberdeen Clinic is that our physiotherapists work with the consultants, radiologists and nursing staff.  This provides a greater understanding of your condition and if we feel that physiotherapy is not helping you, or that your problem would benefit from further investigation, we know exactly who to refer you to and quickly.

WHAT OUR PHYSIOTHERAPISTS DO?

Our Physiotherapists will consider the body as a whole, rather than just focusing on the individual aspects of an injury or illness.  Our approach will follow:

  • Education and advice – physiotherapists can give general advice about things that can affect your daily lives, such as posture and correct lifting or carrying techniques to help prevent injuries.
  • Movement, tailored exercise and physical activity advice – exercises may be recommended to improve your general health and mobility and to strengthen specific parts of your body post illness or injury.
  • Manual therapy – where the physiotherapist uses their hands to help relieve pain and stiffness, and to encourage better movement of the body.

Our approach aims to give you the best care pathway possible, preventing any further issues by educating you on how to manage and maintain your weaknesses ensuring that the risk of further issues are mitigated to the best of our ability.
