Plastic Surgery

Our aim is to provide a service that enhances our clients with a natural, fresh look, improving their self-confidence by reducing some of the signs of ageing or by undertaking minor day surgery to rectify small flaws.

Our approach to plastic surgery differs to the other cosmetic clinics in Aberdeen.  We offer an individually tailored experience provided by, and only by, our plastic surgeons.

We offer both non-surgical and surgical procedures and our clinic is set up to provide our clients with a relaxed and welcoming environment where they will have the opportunity and time to work with their surgeon to achieve their desired outcome.

Our day surgery unit allows our clients to take a step further with their plastic surgery right here in Aberdeen.  Our surgeons are all based in Aberdeen and our care team are part of our larger surgical unit so you can be assured that you are getting the best of care.

Before undergoing any plastic surgery treatments, you will be assessed. This is an opportunity to discuss:

  • The goals for your appearance
  • Our plastic surgeons advise that ‘it is a good idea to think about specific things you would like to improve, such as bumps, wrinkles or drooping, rather than having a broad dislike of yourself;
  • Any previous treatments or injuries to the area
  • Your past medical history

All of this information will help us work out what is the best treatment for your appearance, concerns and health.

We suggest that you book in for a second consultation with one of our plastic surgeons before booking your plastic surgery treatment as it is common to think of more questions after your first consultation.

To make the best decision for your plastic surgery you need advice from someone appropriately trained, sympathetic, honest, skilled and most importantly who you feel comfortable and confident with.  Contact the clinic to book an appointment to see one of our specialists.

Procedures Available

The Aberdeen Clinic provide a mini facelift surgery as this is one of the most common types of facelift surgery.  It addresses wrinkles and sagging skin on the lower third of the face using small incisions placed around the ears.  It restores definition to the chin by removing excess tissue and tightening the remaining tissue:

  • Minimal Scarring.
  • Incisions are concealed in your natural facial contours and hairline.
  • Minimal side effects.
  • Less swelling and bruising than a more extensive facelift.
  • Conservative treatment.
  • Addresses the issues of the lower face area and neck.
  • No general anaesthetic.
  • Can be done using local anaesthetic mitigating the risks associated with a general anaesthetic and you will be able to go home immediately after the procedure.

A cosmetic eyelid surgery can address issues such as excess eyelid skin and tired looking eyes giving you a fresher appearance.  However, there are some conditions that prohibit this type of surgery.

In general, eyelid surgery is performed under local anaesthesia.  With local anaesthesia, you will also receive a sedative which puts you in a kind of twilight sleep; you are awake, but relaxed and insensitive to pain.

What you need to know about the surgery and aftercare:

  • Generally, the surgery will take between 45-60 minutes.
  • In the first week after eyelid surgery you should sleep on your back with your head elevated.
  • Rest as much as possible in the first 2 weeks.
  • Most of the swelling will subside within the first week.
  • Sometimes the whites of the eyes become slightly discoloured, with a bluish tint.  This change is painless and does not affect your eyesight, and quickly reverts back to normal.
  • Some weeks after a blepharoplasty, the formation of small white nodules called milia can occur on the eyelids.  This can easily be removed by your doctor during a visit to the practice.
  • If you experience light burning and tearing of the eyes after eyelid surgery, appropriate eye drops are applied.

As we age, the face naturally loses collagen and elasticity causing the skin to look less refined than it once did.  Wrinkle relaxing injections treats the cause of lines by weakening the muscle that causes the skin to wrinkle.  Our aim as a clinic is to provide our clients with a less tired and more defined youthful appearance without resorting to a surgical face-lift procedure. The results take between 7-10 days and provide you with the most gradual and natural, visible results – subtlety is key for us at The Aberdeen Clinic

Dermal Fillers (also known as Wrinkle Fillers or Facial Plumpers) are popular anti-ageing injectable treatment that plumps, volumises and lifts the skin leaving it smooth, contoured and youthful.  The results are instant unlike wrinkle-relaxing injections.
